Martin Zender's book, How to Quit Church without Quitting God is an examination of the church as a religious institution and how it often exchanges the bondage of sin for the bondage of the church. While he does cover several important areas and cover them well, I have two areas where I thought the text either belabored a point far beyond what /5(6).   The tenth message from the meeting in Faith, North Carolina in Filmed on Alan Hess talks about hell.

The words hell, heel, hole, hull, helmet, cell, cellar, holster, and hold (as of a ship) are all derived from the same root, helan. The Acts 28 position is also known as "Bullingerism", "ultra dispensationalism", etc. I have been called "the champion of anti-Acts 28". The post titled "28 problems with Acts 28 dispensationalism" is by far the best post on the subject.   The Christian Heretic. Just because it's "orthodox" doesn't mean it's true. Scroll down to content As Martin Zender explained, “This verse isn’t trying to tell anyone that God lives forever. nobody “goes to heaven” or “goes to hell” during this judgement — the rewards and punishments in this prophecy take place entirely on.

An excellent book, in every regard. This is the 5th book of Zender's that I've read, and in some regards it outshines the others, with the possible exception of "Martin Zender Goes to Hell," which even at 95 pages packed a powerful punch. Probably my favorite chapters are 12 and /5(33).
